Simplified Chinese (CN) Pokemon Cards

Everything you need to know about Simplified Chinese Pokemon Cards!

Pokemon (宝可梦, 'bǎo kě mèng') from mainland China printed using Simplified Chinese characters (简体字, 'jiǎntǐzì'). Pokemon first began printing the Simplified Chinese TCG in 2022, and the release schedule is totally unique to any other language currently printing Pokemon Cards.

There are two types of Chinese Pokemon cards:

Traditional Chinese

  • Sets end with F in their letter/number difference.
  • Have a higher color saturation.
  • Are caught up with Japan for current Pokemon Era cards.
  • No holographic sticker on the booster boxes.
  • International backing (normal for any non Japanese language printing)

Simplified Chinese

  • Printed in Japan and sold in Mainland China.
  • Sets end with C in their letter/number sequence.
  • Pokemon product in Mainland China is currently (as of 2024) playing catch up with the rest of the world.  Their releases are mixing together different sets within the same era.  Right now they are in Sword & Shield while Japan, Korea, United States, UK, and Canada are in Scarlet & Violet.
  • A holographic sticker on the booster boxes to show it's an authentic Pokemon China product.
  • Has a small Pokemon logo in the bottom left and/or right corner (depending on set released and rare card type) to show it's an authentic Pokemon China product.
  • International backing (normal for any non Japanese language printing)
