Pokkedo History: "Steven's Snorlax"
Welcome to Pokkedo History!

Today's chat is about a rather mysterious Pokkedo card that has begun to resurface - "Snorlax-nya Steven" in Indonesian or "Steven's Snorlax" in English.
If you came across Edo's Instagram reel of this card - first few things that really stand out with this card compared to normal Pokkedo cards are:
- It says Snorlax instead of Ngorox
- It's a SHINY Snorlax!
- It's in English
- The back of the card has a name, email, and 2 QR codes
Edo's description on the Instagram post described that it was a business card commission for a person named Steven (arranged through another person, Axiong) and after about 2 weeks, this card was created.
But there had to be more....right? There are so many things going on with this amazing card that it wasn't JUST a business card?
Mel sat down with Steven to learn about it all.
Steven :
It started first when I went to Indonesia for a Pokemon Go event and I wanted to have memories of getting to know Indonesian players. I asked Axiong for a Pokemon artist for a personal business and Pokemon Go card, which he introduced me to Edo. This was 3 years ago. Edo has just released his v1 set and hadn't taken any commission work before but I really liked his art.
I asked Edo if he wanted to create a card for me so I could give it out to Pokemon Go players in Indonesia and in my local USA community. We agreed to create the card.
I really like the Gym Heroes set from the Pokemon TCG and I wanted to have my on shiny Snorlax, that's why the name was "Snorlax nya Steven" which translated to "Steven's Snorlax".
At the time Edo only had Indonesian Pokemon Cards (V1, etc) so I told him to create an English card so he could reach International collectors. That's why my card is a mix of Indonesian and English.
The card took us around 2 weeks to create and we agreed that it would be considered his first commission as well as his first full art card. I was very happy to see his Instagram reels about creating the card.
The person in the back of the the card was inspired by art created by my sister, who created a picture of my mom and I on my last basketball tournaments that my mom saw before she passed away. So I had Edo add it to the card.
I made 200 cards total - 50 holo and 150 non-holo. When the cards were finished I told Edo to keep #2 for himself and Axiong could pick a card. I wanted to keep #1. I asked Edo to sign my card.
The only way people could get my card was when I gave them out at Pokemon Jakarta Safari's, Los Angeles Pokemon Go Tours and whenever I was vending Pokemon cards in California.
The history and/or the feelings behind the cards are what mean the most to Collectors Alchemy and there is no denying this card has both.
Mel was given a handful of this card (holo and non-holo versions) to help raise funds for Steven due his father passing away.
We hope that you will join us in a very special Whatnot stream "Steven's Snorlax" Whatnot show 2/26. 5pm PST / 6pm MST / 8pm EST.
Thank you everyone for your continued support in helping out a good friend to Collectors Alchemy and a member of the Pokkedo family!
